For staying on track, looking for smaller, manageable milestones is for sure the way to go. When I first started my business, the idea of building a successful online beauty empire seemed daunting. However, by setting achievable weekly and monthly targets—whether it was increasing our product range, improving our website’s user experience, or expanding our customer base—I found myself consistently motivated by the regular sense of accomplishment.
I also think that staying connected with my passion for beauty and skincare was something that kept me focused on moving forward. I make it a point to regularly engage with our products, test new formulations, and keep up with the latest trends in the industry. Perhaps if I stepped back to only be involved with the macro side of the business, I’d be less excited about our offerings, and I wouldn’t understand our customers’ needs as well. For instance, when we were developing our most recent line of natural, eco-friendly cosmetics—a project that took over a year—I would find myself getting a little dopamine boost every time we discovered a new, sustainable ingredient or packaging solution.
And as a final note, I’ve found that building and nurturing a strong team is instrumental in maintaining motivation during long-term projects.
