Quiet Resort Getaway Resets the Mind
A weekend at a quiet resort on the Mornington Peninsula is my version of luxury. Ocean views, slow breakfasts, and a good book—no schedules, no noise. I reserve it for when I’ve pushed too hard and need space to reset. It’s not just pampering—it’s a reminder to pause.

Cologne Boosts Confidence for Key Moments
I keep a bottle of Le Labo’s Santal 33 cologne on my shelf—not for daily use, but for days when I need to feel grounded and confident. The scent is warm, woody, and oddly nostalgic for me. I wear it on days when I pitch to investors, meet a new client, or even when I need to reset mentally after a long week. It’s less about luxury and more about presence—it reminds me I’ve earned this moment. I don’t overuse it because part of the indulgence is keeping it rare. When I spray it, it’s like flipping a switch—I stand straighter, think clearer, and feel like the version of myself I’m always working toward.

Candles Ignite Memories and Tranquility
Even before I started making candles, they’ve been my reward.
As a young 20-something in my first house, I remember doing a deep spring clean on it one weekend. It wasn’t a big house, but it was mine. I swept and mopped and polished, and when it was all done, I pulled out one of the special summery three-wick candles I had bought for just this occasion.
As I lit each wick, something just released in me. It was the final touch. I set the candle safely in the center of my kitchen table, sat down on a nearby chair, and looked around at my work. It felt good.
As I got older and started going to craft bazaars and vintage markets, even the act of buying a new candle was a moment of pleasure. Looking at the different packaging, seeing how the artisan had displayed it, admiring the label, exclaiming at the clever name, it was just a moment of enjoyment. Then when you showed your companions at the event what you had found, opening the lid and letting them take a whiff, it’s just fun to share a bit of happiness with others.
Some people think of candles as a thoughtless gift, but not me. As a candle maker who sells at the markets I used to attend, I hear people tell me stories of the lilacs in their grandma’s garden, the coconut that takes them back to a Caribbean vacation, the scent of Christmas in a Fraser Fir candle. The moment of selling them candles and knowing they’re going to gift them or indulge in them themselves is delightful.
Of the five physical senses, scent is the most powerful. The act of lighting a candle, sitting in its fragrance and soft glow, and taking a deep breath, can bring us back to the most joyful moments of our time, even if that moment is just celebrating a job well done on a freshly cleaned house.
I hope everyone can find a bit of peace and luxury when lighting a candle.

Face Masks Offer Instant Mini-Spa Experience
I’m a huge fan of face mask sheets. These one-time disposable sheets are a simple indulgence I can put on my face after a long day and instantly get transported into a mini spa-like state. They’re available at most drugstores like CVS or Walgreens and cost between $2-$5 on average. Leaving a cooling face mask on for 10 minutes doesn’t sound like much, but it can be just the lift you need for a moment of self-care.

Hotel-Style Robe Brings Luxury Home
There is nothing better than the robes they give you at nice hotels. A few years ago, I stayed at a hotel, and the robe they gave me was so perfect that I asked the front desk what the brand was and bought one for myself! Now, I like to use it from time to time when I feel like I need to recharge or if I’m taking a short trip. If my suitcase will fit it, I will take it to any short-term rentals I am staying at while traveling, and sometimes I will wear it at home too to help me unwind. However, I don’t wear it all the time because I don’t want it to lose what makes it feel so luxurious!

Quality Sunglasses Blend Style with Practicality
I am all for items that are equal parts practical and luxurious. I never want to overspend on a “luxury” product that doesn’t really measure up in quality, and similarly, I don’t want to buy too many cheap things that won’t last. So, one thing that I will indulge in from time to time is nice sunglasses. I spend a lot of time outdoors – lounging on my patio, traveling, hiking, simply being outside. I like having sunglasses that are equally attractive and useful so that they can work with a nice outfit and also when I am just casually lounging in the sun.
